Sue Hammett received her Bachelor's degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia and her Master's degree from Webster University. She taught one year in Columbia Schools and 29 years in the Independence School District. Sue was the Independence Teacher of the Year in 1989.  She received several other national and local awards for her innovative teaching.  Since her retirement from teaching, she has worked the last eight years in the Education Foundation Fundraising industry.
